Prior to the re-design of this landscape, the beds along the front of the home were overplanted with evergreen shrubs and too narrow for the size of the home or the distance from the street. The beds were expanded out to the sidewalk and some of the existing evergreens were transplanted. The beds are now filled with native plants and ornamental grasses. Areas near the entry and driveway allow for seasonal changes to the landscape.

A private sitting area occupies a previously unused lawn area by the front door. A variety of flowering perennials surrounds and softens the small patio. A small fountain enhances the enjoyment of the patio and a dry stream bed helps with drainage. The expanded beds with new colorful and interesting plantings as well as the flagstone patio area now enhance the front of this country home.
